I love apples and I love pie- but really my favorite part of apple pie is the crust. While tortillas don’t taste the same as a real pie crust, they are a good substitute. This apple pie recipe is simple to make which is a great thing on a busy night when you still want a great dessert. They are filled with apples, cinnamon, and sugar and then coated with melted butter and more cinnamon and sugar, you just can’t go wrong. They taste so yummy straight from the oven, or great out of the fridge the day after. These are especially great for kids because they are eaten with your hands (not using a fork and plate), and they are great for outdoor activities.
Once you have your tortilla cut in half and have spooned some apple pie filling or sliced apples that have been soaked in lemon juice and sugar, then fold it over and use a fork to crimp the edges together.
After you have it pressed, then spread a thin layer of melted butter over the whole thing.
Sprinkle with Cinnamon and Sugar (the more the better right 😉 )
Put in your oven at 450 degrees and cook for about 10 minutes. I recommend Parchment Paper underneath because the fruit/juice will leak out a little it’s really gooey and hard to clean off.
Don’t these just look SO YUMMY!?!?!? From start to finish I was able to make 8 of them (4 large tortillas cut in half) in about 5 minutes. Then they bake for about 10 minutes. This gives you 15 minute apple pie! Great for anything (breakfast to dinner) and easy to make (great recipe for kids).

HELP – I can’t get the tortillas to sea…. what am I doing wrong?

If you just push down with your fork all the way around – it might not “seal” tightly but as it cooks the butter and heat will seal the edges. A little of the filling juice might leak out, but shouldn’t be a lot.
