5-Minute Cinnamon Sugar Apples Recipe
One of my favorite things to eat growing up was hot cereal. I remember sitting down to breakfast and having a bowl of cream of wheat or oatmeal to eat. We were able to add our own ingredients to the cereal, and I always chose cinnamon and sugar. Since then I have still loved eating hot cereal for breakfast and now I like to add fresh apples with the cinnamon and sugar. My kids always try to pilfer the cinnamon-sugar covered apples so I usually end up making them their own bowl. This is a very simple recipe and is super yummy! If you want to have warm Cinnamon Sugar Apples, then just follow the directions and then heat them in your microwave for about 30 seconds at a time until they are as warm and tender as you like.
5-Minute Cinnamon Sugar Apples Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 apple
- Cinnamon
- Sugar
- Lemon Juice (optional)
Directions:
- Cut apple in half, cut out core, then cut into slices (as thick or thin as you prefer) and then dice them.
- Usually 1/2 of an apple is a perfect serving size
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar (personal preference on how much you want)
- You can add a small amount of lemon juice to the apples to keep them from browning and to help them keep their fresh taste. Be sure to mix well.
I love to make my apples this way and add them to everything from Apple Pies to hot cereal. You can also do this with strawberries, peaches, and other yummy fruits.
What a neat idea, these would be great for after school snacks or to toss in the lunch boxes thank you for a fresh idea.
