We love camping and being outdoors. This also means that while we are camping we use our dutch oven for dinner every night. Since we built a fire pit in our back yard we like to have dutch oven at home now too – but you can still cook it in your oven even if it is still in the dutch oven. There are just so many ways to make it.
This is my Dutch Oven Pork Roast Recipe and it turns out great every time!
Dutch Oven Pork Roast Recipe
Serving Size: 5-6
Ingredients:
- 2-3 lb Pork Roast (boneless)
- 5-6 large Potatoes
- 1 lb bag of carrots (or mini carrots) peeled and cut into 2 inch pieces
- 1 Large onion
- 2 Green Peppers
- 2 cans of Sprite
Instructions
- Add briquettes to fire pit and get them hot while you are putting ingredients together.
- Add sprite to bottom of dutch oven
- Add Pork Roast
- Add Carrots
- Add Potatoes, sliced or cut into 1 inch chunks
- Add green peppers cut into 1 inch wide pieces
- Add onion, washed and peeled into layers
- You may also choose to add a tablespoon or two of diced garlic
- Season to taste
- Cover and cook for 2-3 hours, check to make sure roast is done
