Those of you who have been here before know that I love Peanut butter and chocolate. If this is your first time here, well, look around. You will love the recipes that we have shared. I have never made a “bark” before, but seen many different recipes for it and it looked easy enough so I wanted to try it out. I am now in love with this Halloween bark recipe and will have to be very careful about how often I make it or I am going to have to get bigger pants. ๐ The recipe is really simple and it only took about 10 minutes from start to finish. It made almost a full cookie sheet full, so it is great to share or for treat plates, parties, and all of that fun stuff.

I break it into smaller pieces so that my kids can eat it without getting gooey because the chocolate will melt if you hold it too long and well my kids don’t need any help getting messy. lol. On the flip side, I noticed that I could break them into pieces and put them out on a plate and the pieces didn’t melt just sitting there. While they became a little soft (because they are supposed to be refrigerated) they still tasted very good.

Here is the recipe and printable version so you can try it out and impress everyone with your awesome baking skills ๐
Halloween Bark {Chocolate Peanut Butter}
Ingredients
- 1 cup of pretzels broken into pieces
- 1 cup of peanuts (your choice of flavor)
- 2 bags of chocolate chips (or equivalent in other baking chocolate) We used Toll House Halloween to get the black and orange effect.
- 2-3 tsp of oil (I used olive)
- Other candy and snacks are optional
Instructions
- Take a cookie sheet and line it with a piece of parchment paper.
- Put the peanuts into a mini food processor and chop them up for about 10 seconds. Some of them will be like powder, but there will also be nice chunks left.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate for 20 sec then take it out and stir, and add 2-3 tsp of oil to keep the chocolate from becoming brittle. Put it back in and microwave for another 20 seconds, take it out and stir, then microwave again. Repeat this until you get a nice smooth and creamy chocolate.
- When the chocolate is melted, take the pieces of pretzel, and chopped peanuts and mix them all together in the bowl. Once everything is coated well, spread the chocolate peanut mixture out on the parchment making it as thick or thin as you want, we did about 1/2 inch.
- At this point, we melted the orange chocolate chips the same way as described above and then spread them over the chocolate peanut mixture.
- You can add mini M&M’s, candy corn, cut-up candy bars, and many other things to the top of this, just be sure to press it in good before you put it in the fridge to cool.
- Once you have it the way you want you will put it in the fridge for about 20 minutes to cool. Take it out at this point and break or cut it into pieces (I used a pizza cutter). Then you will stick it back into the fridge and let it set for a couple of hours. What follows after you take them back out, is pure peanut butter chocolate heaven. Enjoy!

Of course, I call this Halloween Bark because of the colors I choose, but honestly, you can use it any time of year for a yummy peanut butter chocolate fix.
