Halloween (October) is one of the most fun months of the year. Part of that is because 4 of the 6 of my family members have birthdays within weeks of Halloween, but another part is the decorations, colors, food and fun! We love everything about it and my kids have so much fun that it has grown to be one of our most loved holidays. In thinking about Spooky Snacks for party and snack foods, and even just for an after school snack – I came up with these monster Halloween smoothies. They are color coordinated for Halloween – and all of them taste so good!
There is a Purple Monster Halloween Smoothie (Blueberry), Black Bat Halloween Smoothie (OREO), Green Goblin Halloween Smoothie (Spinach and Citrus), and Orange Pumpkin Halloween Smoothie (Fanta). I LOVE how they turned out and will be making them regularly. I wanted to make cute place cards for them because we had it set out like a “build your own” and so I used Scrapbook paper and cut them into strips of 6″ long and 3.5″ wide and folded them in half. I used Chalkboard Labels and a Metallic Sharpie to write on them, and some scrapbook embellishments like brads to decorate them. They turned out really cute.
To make the Purple Monster Halloween Smoothie:
1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
2 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream
1 cup of milk
8-10 ice cubes
Add all ingredients into blender and mix for about 60 seconds or until desired consistency. Top with whip cream and sprinkle OREO crumbles on top.
To make the Black Bat Monster Halloween Smoothie:
4 OREO Cookies
2 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream
1 cup of milk
8-10 ice cubes
Add all ingredients into blender and mix for about 60 seconds or until desired consistency. Top with whip cream and sprinkle OREO crumbles on top.
To make the Orange Pumpkin Monster Halloween Smoothie:
1 tbsp of Orange Jello gelatin powder
1 peeled orange
2 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream
1/2 cup of milk
1 cup of Fanta Soda
8-10 ice cubes
Add all ingredients into blender and mix for about 60 seconds or until desired consistency. Top with whip cream and sprinkle OREO crumbles on top.
To make the Green Goblin Monster Halloween Smoothie:
10-15 leaves of spinach
2 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup of orange juice
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 tbsp of Lime gelatin powder
8-10 ice cubes
Add all ingredients into blender and mix for about 60 seconds or until desired consistency. Top with whip cream and sprinkle OREO crumbles on top.
I love how they all turned out! I could barely keep my kids at bay long enough to take the pictures, lol. The fun thing about these is that you can make them to your taste and have a lot of fun. I used gelatin powder to help with the color and the flavor, but you can also use real fruits and veggies as well as things like OREO and Fanta. Everything is better with OREO. I was at Walmart the other night and found these too cute OREO Glow int he Dark packs as well as the Classic Mix Packs. I grabbed one of each a couple 2L of Fanta Soda – because they go perfectly together!
If you are looking for a simple, delicious treat then you need to try these Monster Halloween Smoothies!
