It has taken me a long time to really get a well stocked pantry, and now that I have one, I wonder how I survived all these years, lol. So to help save you stress and to encourage you to start cooking as much recipes as you can from home, I am sharing this pantry staples list. It is what you NEED in your kitchen pantry at all times.
If you want to get serious about cooking and baking you will want to make sure your Pantry is stocked with all the essentials. The Pantry Staples List below is packed with spices, seasonings, oils, dry goods, rice, kinds of vinegar, and so much more. This will make it possible to whip up a great meal with what you have and not have to run out to the store at the last minute.
Pantry Staples List
Oils and Vinegars
- Olive Oil
- Vegetable Oil
- Balsamic Vinegar
- Red Wine Vinegar
- Rice Vinegar
Herbs and Spices
- Cayenne pepper
- Cumin powder
- Chile powder
- Curry
- Dill
- Dried chopped onions
- Garlic
- Ground Cinnamon
- Ground ginger
- Nutmeg
- Oregano
- Pepper (ground, peppercorns)
- Paprika (sweet and smoked)
- Rosemary
- Salt (kosher, fine, sea)
- Sesame seeds
- Thyme
Baking Supplies
- Vanilla extract
- Baking Powder
- Baking Soda
- Cocoa powder
- Flour (all-purpose, pastry)
- Granulated sugar

Having these ingredients on hand will enable you to make easy family recipes that even your kids can help with. You will save time and money because you will not need to eat out or have to run to the store to grab something and end up getting several other items that you can’t afford or don’t need to spend money on.
If you don’t have all of these items, watch for sales and stock up on the items that you need so you are not paying full price for the next time. Also, be sure to keep track of what you use most. If you go through a lot of something, stock up on that more than others.
