Baking bread is really one of my most favorite things to do with my kids. They love helping add all the ingredients, mix it all up and fill the bread pans pans. We also love making muffins and this Pumpkin Bread recipe is great for both! This is a great time of year to take a loaf or some muffins to friends. You can use food coloring to make it a little Orange and add Hershey miniatures bars for tombstones! There are so many fun things to do, this Pumpkin Bread recipe will make its way into your cook book!
Pumpkin Bread Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
- 15 Oz Can Pumpkin
- 4 Eggs
- 1/2 Cup Veg. Oil
- 1/2 Cup Applesauce
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 3 1/2 Cups Flour
- 2 Tsp. Baking Soda
- 1 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 1 Tsp. Cinnamon
- Splash of Vanilla
- 1/4 Tsp Pumpkin Spice
- 1 Cup Walnuts
- 1/2 Cup Raisins
- 1 Tsp Nutmeg
- 1/2 Tsp Cloves
- 1/4 Tsp Ground Ginger
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour three 7×3 inch loaf pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, water and sugar until well blended. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger. Stir the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until just blended. Pour into the prepared pans.
- Bake for about 50 minutes in the preheated oven. Loaves are done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
