Welcome to week 3 of our Weekly Kid’s Activity Series! We are exploring the Ocean this week! We made CUTE Turtle Cupcakes and Octopus Cupcakes that we are excited to share with you today.

On Wednesday, you can check back for Ocean Crafts, and on Wednesday we have a fun printable for a trip to the Aquarium where you can see all of the fun creatures and fish that we talked about all week.
So far we have had fun exploring animals with our Cat Cupcakes, Animal Crafts, and a free Printable Farm Animal Scavenger Hunt. We also shared DAD Cupcakes, Father’s Day Crafts and a printable All About Questionnaire for Dads and kids.

To make your Turtle Cupcakes you will need:
- Unfrosted cupcakes (any flavor/color) – we used chocoalte
- German Chocolate (coconut pecan) frosting
- Toffifay candy (I found a cheaper box in the candy aisle by the theater box candy for like $2)
- Gummy Watermelon Candies (we will cut the green off to use for the legs and tail)
- Gum Drops (for the head)
To put your Turtle Cupcakes together, first of all, you will take the German Chocolate frosting and frost the cupcakes. (1 at a time – make these as you go to the frosting stays “sticky”). Next, you will take the Toffifay candy and put it with the “shell” is facing up in the middle of the cupcake.
Now take the watermelon candy you cut the “rine” off of and use those green pieces for the legs. Then cut a smaller piece for the tail. Now you will add the gumdrop for the head.
They are so easy to put together but look adorable and my kids loved how good they are too!

To make your Octopus Cupcakes you will need:
- Unfrosted Cupcakes (any flavor/color)
- White/Cream Cheese (or blue) frosting
- Blue edible decorating color mist spray
- 1 bag of gummy Octopus candy
To put your Octopus cupcakes together, you will take the cupcake and frost it with the white or cream cheese frosting. Next, you will take the blue edible decorating spray and lightly spray the frosting to make it look like water. Now take your gummy Octopus candy and put it on top.
NOTE: You could make your own octopuses with a large gumdrop and some pull-apart licorice if you can’t find the gummy octopuses.

I hope these are as fun for you and your kids to make as they were for me and mine. Here are some quick fun facts you can print out to learn more about Turtles and Octopuses while you are making them.

These cupcakes wii be so much fun to make.
My granddaughter would love to have these cupcakes at her party next month. She loves the ocean.
