I love being in the kitchen creating and cooking for my family, but it has been a real pain because I haven’t had a nice set of cookware for almost 10 years. If you don’t have nice cookware the food doesn’t cook evenly, it takes longer for it cook, and you have to dirty a lot more dishes if you are cooking in the oven as well. I love my new Calphalon Classic Stainless Steel 10-pc. Cookware Set. It does everything I need and dream about. They clean up so easy, and are very versatile. Another thing I love about this set are the etched fill lines. It makes measuring so easy and simplifies the cleanup!
The set includes 8-in. Fry Pan , 10-in. Fry Pan, 1.5-qt. Sauce Pan & Cover, 2.5-qt. Sauce Pan & Cover, 3-qt. Sauté Pan & Cover, and 6-qt. Stock Pot & Cover. There are several sizes (all of my favorites) and all of the pots come with awesome lids that have strainer holes! All of the Pans are made from brushed stainless steel with impact-bonded aluminum bases for fast even heating and the ability to put them straight from the stove top into the oven (oven and broiler safe). I have to admit that I haven’t even talked about my favorite feature yet, with all of the amazing things that I have covered. My favorite feature of the pans – are the handles! They are stainless steel long handles that stay cool. I have used all of the pans to test them, and none of them got hot! The stock-pot handles do get hot so be careful with those. All of the other handles do not. (of course they would if you put them in the oven so be careful with that too 😉 ).
I wanted to have fun with my new set, so I made a yummy Shredded Chicken Soup Recipe. This recipe is really easy to make and only takes a few ingredients. Because I was short on time, I put the chicken (4 boneless skinless breasts) into the slow cooker on HI with 1.5 cups of water and 1/2 packet of the McCormick Gourmet Toasted Sesame and Garlic mix. I had this on had and it smelled divine – you are welcome to use whatever you feel would taste great. I left the chicken to cook for about 3 hours – flipping them once about half way through.
After letting the chicken cook for about 3 hours, I put the 6-qt. Stock Pot on the stove with the heat on high. I added three cans of chicken broth and three cans of water. While that was coming to a boil, I chopped carrots and onions and added chunks of them to the water. After I was done cutting the carrots and onions I pulled the chicken out of the crock put and put it on the cutting board and then took the liquid from the slow cooker and poured it into the stock pot. I wanted to keep all of that yummy seasoning. While the carrots, onions and broth were coming to a boil, I used two forks to shred the chicken. You can make this as chunky or stringy as you want. Once it is shredded, add it to the mixture. Let it simmer on medium heat for about 10 minutes or until the carrots are cooked (not mushy).
This soup is SO YUMMY. My kids all ate 2 servings. It was quite hot – so we added an ice cube to each bowl to help it cool faster. We served hot butter rolls on the side – and I loved dipping them into the broth. This is the perfect dish for all of the cool nights – and it stores good and would make a great lunch the next day. This recipe was so easy to make because I only had to use the stockpot to cook all of the food. It holds a lot and so I didn’t have to worry about messes. My Calphalon Classic Stainless Steel 10-pc. Cookware Set is my new best friend in the kitchen.
I completely recommend the Calphalon Stainless Steel Classic 10-piece cookware set. It has everything I love to use in the set and the awesome features I told you about earlier like the stay-cool handle, etched measuring lines, and strainer holes in the lids.
