The holidays are a great time to try delicious recipes to share with friends and family – and using a slow cooker makes it so much easier! I got some delicious Litehouse Foods products to try – the Sweet Onion with Dijon Dressing, Fresh Garlic, and Gorgonzola Cheese. I knew right away I wanted to make a chicken and pasta dish because of the garlic and cheese – and I am really happy with how the Slow Cooker Sweet Onion and Gorgonzola Chicken Recipe turned out. Before I get into the details of how to make it I wanted to share with you some details about a great contest Litehouse is running!

For the Slow Cooker Sweet Onion and Gorgonzola Chicken Recipe, we used only 5 ingredients in the slow cooker – super easy to put it together. I took 6-7 boneless – skinless chicken breasts and put them in the slow cooker and then added about 3/4 of the bottle of the Litehouse Sweet Onion dressing and about 1 TBSP of the Litehouse Garlic. Then I added a 16 oz container of Ricotta cheese and spread it over the top. You will want to add about 1/2 – 1 cup of chicken stock as well since this will be your sauce for the pasta. Put it all in the slow cooker and cook it on high (stirring occasionally) for about 3-4 hours or on low for about 7 hours. The chicken will be tender and almost just fall apart. The sauce is delicious as well.

About 15 minutes before you are ready to serve you will want to prepare a 1 lb package of noodles. I used fettuccine and they turned out great. Once you get the noodles cooked – you will want to add a smear of the sauce on the plate, then add a pile of the noodles and then the chicken and drizzle sauce around it. Once you have that, drizzle a little of the Sweet Onion dressing and then top with the Gorgonzola cheese. It turned out so good! Everyone at the table cleaned their plates 🙂 This was easy to make and it looks like you spent hours in the kitchen cooking. Enjoy!
