Breakfast food is hands down my favorite. There are just so many delicious things to eat and it is hard for me to choose what sounds good because I love all of it. That is why one of our favorite things to do is have a breakfast bar. Jimmy Dean® Sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy with cheese on top for a savory breakfast taco, or add french toast with berries, whip cream and cinnamon and sugar for a sweet breakfast taco. Both of them taste amazing. So we want to share how to make them and why they are perfect for a simple holiday breakfast.
I like to make little bowls out of flour tortilla shells and we will sprinkle half with cinnamon and sugar and the other half will be plain. Then you take the bowl and can make either a sweet dish with French toast, fruit, whipped cream, etc or make a savory dish with biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns, Jimmy Dean® Sausage, cheese, etc. You can pick up everything you need, including the Jimmy Dean® sausage and other Tyson® products at Kroger Supermarkets and its subsidiaries, like Smith’s.
Today I am going to show you how we set ours up and why these Sweet and Savory Breakfast Tacos are perfect for the holidays for get-togethers with friends and family. These are also fun to put together and take to friends and family – and add the recipe so they can make it as well. We have often had this for lunch or even dinner- breakfast food is delicious any time of the day 😉
What you will need to make your breakfast bar for 6 servings:
- 1 Jimmy Dean® Sausage Roll, cooked
- 6 Eggs, scrambled
- 4 pieces of French toast, cut into 1-inch squares
- 8 large Biscuits
- 2 cups of Country gravy
- 1 cup of Grated cheese
- 4 Hashbrowns, cooked and chopped
- Raspberries, Blackberries, and Bananas
- Whip Cream
- Cinnamon, sugar, salt, pepper, and other seasonings and spices
- White flour tortillas, baked and coated with cinnamon and sugar or plain (I did 3 of each)
Most of this you can make ahead so it is ready quickly for a delicious breakfast! I love this part of it – because it helps during busy days. The Jimmy Dean® sausage is one of the key ingredients, adding delicious flavor to the breakfast tacos. Getting together and eating meals as a family is important to me all throughout the year – and not just on Christmas or Thanksgiving. It is a great time to connect with each other and make great memories.
Make these delicious sweet and savory breakfast tacos for your next family meal, big or small. They are easy to put together and having something for everyone!
