I love sandwiches, especially when they have bacon and cheese! They are easy to make and taste delicious. Everyone in my family loves them as well. With summer in full swing, we have been having fun coming up with different recipes that are fun for my kids to help me make and that don’t require a lot of “heat” since it is already hot. One of our favorites has been the B.L.T. Sandwich. We put together all of our favorite things like sourdough bread, mayo, bacon, spinach, tomatoes, Sargento® Sliced Cheese, pickles, olives, cucumbers and mustard. We put it out in a buffet style so they can go through and make their own sandwiches to their own tastes. It is a lot of fun.
To make our B.L.T. Sandwich bar, we first start cooking the bacon. I cut the long pieces in half so when they are cooked, they are the perfect size for sandwiches. While it is cooking we get out the mayo, tomatoes, pickles, olives, cucumbers, mustard and Sargento® Cheese. You will need to slice the tomatoes, cut and wash the spinach, slice the pickles and olives, peel and slice the cucumbers, and get the sliced cheese out – it is so nice that it is ready to go! One less thing to worry about. Once everything is ready, start making the sandwiches.

To make the perfect B.L.T. sandwich, I like to start with a thin layer of mayo on each piece of bread. Then I will add the cheese, spinach, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and a little more bacon and cheese before covering with the other slice of bread. I then cut mine in half and plate it with pickles and chips or even veggies and fruits. This is a great meal to have anytime for all ages. We even like to do this when we go to the park for a fun picnic and the Sargento® Cheese makes prep so much easier.
I picked up everything I needed at my local Kroger store. It was great to get all of the veggies, bacon, bread and cheese and come home and make sandwiches for our family night.
